I have a 2002 C4S coming. I use to have a 96-993 C4S. The 993 is low volume in production numbers and therefore after owning it for 2 years, I got good resale. My question is this, if US/CANADA will not get the regular C4 and all C4 will be widebody in C4S config, will the 996 C4S be "a dime a dozen" compare to the 993 C4S? Will that affect the resale of the 996 C4S ? BTW I really enjoyed the 993, but after 6 years, the car is getting on (despite only 14000 kms) and the new 996 is really hot looking, with new technologies .... All opinions welcome

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Last month, March, somebody posted that they now had to wait for the 2003 MY for their C4S ordered that month. In my neck of the woods, the next C4S is due next month, May. This was ordered in November. To order now will get your car in late this year. I think the production numbers for 2002 C4S are low. I found that number earlier, but can't find it now. The C2 are excellent cars, and there will be people who will still prefer the C2 over the C4S for a multitude of reasons. Between that and the production numbers and consequent waitng, I don't believe the C4S will become a dime a dozen.
There will be fewer 996 C4S' than 996 Turbos.
I remember reading that there will only be 5000 C4S' made worldwide. I dont know how many of those the US is getting...
My dealer said 2400 C4S's for the US this year.
From the Porsche Annual Report- "Of those who bought the Carrera, 7,545 chose four-wheel drive, which is available for both the Coup and the Cabriolet. Including the Turbo, almost half of 911 sales were of cars with four-wheel drive"
