Any advantages to installing one of these? Regards. Mike

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The center radiator is definitely helpful in keeping the car cooler especially during DE's in the hotter climates. Once did a DE at willow springs track and the ambient temp got near 117 F. Hope this helps. Xerxez
Callas Rennsport sells the center radiator upgrade as a kit, complete for $435 (as of November 2001). You can reach them at [phone removed]. It runs in series with the two side mounted radiators to provide additional cooling for the engine. They can likely tell you how much cooling (degrees) they get. Loren (99 996)
Thanks for thr response. I plan to do a few DE events so it maybe wise to install one. Is it an easy install or requires an experienced technician to do it? I presume you had it done so was there any modifications needed on the front bumper or is it pretty bolt on? Thanks. Mike
It's not a DIY project. You will need a lift to get under the car and lots of coolant. I think its called ELF or something like that... The parts do just bolt in with no modifications to the front bumper. I think the plastic center piece just pops out to open the center cut-out. Callas Rennsport did my install as well and have had no problems whatsoever with the install. Even on the hottest day and with spirited driving in the hot environment, the temp really never gets beyond the 180 mark. Hope this helps, Xerxez
996FLT, Dude how many things and conversion have you made to your car? Lets us see the list and please the before and after shots and stats. Man, at this rate you are going mabye time for a TT.
Here's what I done so far Bloke and what future stuff I plan to do until maybe a year or two gravitate towards a TT : ). Fabspeed exhaust Fabspeed cold air intake TRG'a Unichip B&M short shifter Ruf pedals Techart rear winglet(attached to rear spoiler) Carbon fiber shifter/boot Planned projects: Euro ROW m030 suspension GT3 swaybar GT3 center radiator 18 inch SSR GT3 rims with 285 rear 225 front carbon fiber handbrake(only thing I plan to do cosmetically) Once I get all these done I hope to put pics on them but I tried one time and couldn't put a pic in the post-if not I email the pics for you if you want. Regards. Mike
996FLT(mike) Sounds like alot, so are you planning to use this car for the track mostly or is it going to be your daily drive. But, when you can post the pics.
I tell you a little story. I have a garage that basically holds 3 cars but its all inline not side by side. My 996 is the first one in. My wife's car is first one to go out then the suv. If I could put my SUV in the back I would but no vertical clearance so I either use my SUV or my 996 and everyday I take out my 996. It's a daily driver as well as a car for tracking and it's been all fun. DE events are a blast!! Mike
