Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ive recently discovered that as an option, Porsche made larger fuel tanks for the 996 (75, 92 & 100 litres) - but only for the Left Hand Drive models. Does anyone know if retrofitting these tanks is as simple as just changing out the tank? or will other tank peripherals need to be changed as well?

POST 2Original post

There was one for sale on one of the boards not too long ago. From what I remember reading not an "easy" or cheap otion addition and not plug and play either.

Nothing definite but usually the larger fuel tanks are available in Europe and other locales (though maybe not in the UK) and sometimes not in the USA. A year or more back I did some digging into a new GTS which was reported in the UK car mags available on order with a 100l gas tank but when I checked in the USA that option I was told was not available. Anyhow, I do not know the degree of difficultly -- or even if it is doable for a reasonable cost/effort -- in doing what you are doing. Sincerely, Macster.
