Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Stealth B'Day surprise happened tonite, and everything went great except for the pictures. Arrived 7:30 @The Palm, Nashville TN.....Got a wink from the Valet who was in on the deed......30 minutes later, the waiter waited until Barkley was in the Ladies Rm, to advise me that Sean Petty from Music City Motorsports had arrived and was in the bar. He had the Valet park the car right at the front door. After dinner, the waiters sang "the song", and then coffee, and the check. ON the way out, I gave her the "watch", which she opened, and it was a BMW key (she later told me she was sure it was a 325i Conv..... As the door to the street opened, there it was, in all it's glory, dressed with a monster red bow.....she started bawling....25 or so people were applauding..... Sean was the photographer (he needs lessons), and a grand time was had by all. I love my wife, and I'm thrilled that she was so thrilled.....we drove around Old Hickory Lake, and she screamed most of the way!!!!!

POST 2Original post

Richard - Good job!. You're wife looks TOTALLY surprised! BTW, she is a very nice looking lady. But why are you wearing a white coat?... oh, wait... never mind... that's the waiter... sorry, I couldn't keep the whole thing serious!

POST 3Original post

Hard to top that...well done and don't lose her, she's gorgeous!!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No chance of that.....I met her in Ft Lauderdale in '97, and we've been together every minute since....she was a student at Univercity of Alabama (Roll Tide). Married 4 years now, and everyday is better than the last one!! Oh, and by the way.....she siings like Bonnie Raitt.

POST 7Original post

Very impressed!!! Glad it all worked as planned. By the way, my wife sends her kudos as well. Hope the night didn't end after dinner

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Robyn....she IS awsome......with one fault...........she can't shift. I've tried teaching her.... I think she needs to learn from a female.......how 'bout it???

POST 12Original post

What's that horse looking thing on our crest?

POST 14Original post

Glad it all worked out Richard! Nice job. Nice lady.

POST 17Original post

Richard, Great Job..if you surprised her with a car I could only imagine how you proposed. How do you top that?

POST 18Original post

Dell - Smarty Jones? That does not ring a bell... can you explain?

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh, I've got a few plans.......stay tuned!!!!!

POST 21Original post

Seriously Tim? Smarty Jones (aka the triple crown threat last year). Richard, what is next? You said there is more???????

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No more for this B'Day.....but we have plenty of other events for which I can get creative!!!!!

POST 25Original post

my wife does NOT need to see this thread she wants a 325 convertible actually but I think she may have to organise that herself when shes an attorney in a few months - gives me more to spend on a Cayman (selfish I know)

POST 26Original post

That is way cool... I just hope my wife does not read this thread... LOL

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The biggest question I have is WHAT DO SOME OF YOU NOT LIKE ABOUT THE 645i? I drove it yesterday, and it's pretty amazing. If I wasn't so in love with my Pcar, I'd defiinitely have it on the short list. Not to crazy about the i drive, or whatever they call it, but I'll get used to it. As far as performance, for a touring car, it's pretty great. I'm glad to have it as an addtion to the family, but it would never replace my C4S.

POST 28Original post

Stlying, interior and exterior I hate the way BMW have moved away from the driver angled dashboards I was EXTREMELY excited when BMW announced a new '6', i've always wanted a big BMW coupe - I nearly bought an 840 CSI a few years back... I like the 5 and 3 styling but I cannot get on with the '6' I only buy two car manufacturers - BMW and Porsche so its not an anti-beemer thing

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I guess that's what makes horseracing!!!! For the last 2 days, the ego juice from the headturning caused by the 645i has been something to behold. I had an '01 M5, '90 750il.....I like this one the best!!

POST 30Original post

Totally kool! That's the way to go. Lovely lady.

POST 32Original post

Cool story, good job On the 6 series question, I freely admit I just don't get it. Isn't the M3 just like it, except superior in every way? And then theres the styling

POST 33 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Theonly thing I can suggest is DRIVE ONE.....then you might get it.....all I know is, ever since she saw it, it'sthe one that got her....and we have a friend w/an M3 Conv.....her comment is "it's too BOY RACER for me..... before you even THINK of flaming, remember, that's her comment, not mine!!!!! I used to pick all her cars, and then it dawned on me that I drive whatever I want.....so should she!!!! ESPECIALLY since I'm looking at something pretty vulgar, money-wise that is!!!! But that's for another thread....let's see if I work up the nerve to spend that much!!

POST 34Original post

I did drive one, not my thing I guess. And I agree with the boy racer M3 comment, the demographic doesn't fit me either but the car was very fun to drive. I just can't figure out the marketing strategy, unless it is only meant to compete with the MB CLK. Now if some bonehead at BMW can explain why you can't get a manual transmission on an M5

POST 35 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think it's in between an SL, and a CLK....more youthful than an SL, and it has the occasional rear seats....WAY too many SL's here.... I didn't know that about the M5 being auto only.....I had an '01, manual trans....man was that a great car...LeMans Blue, LeMans Blue/Black seats.....when we drove it through Europe, kids would give us the thumbs up....very recognized over there. Is it the same for the upcoming M6, no manual?

POST 36Original post

Looks like SMG only for the M6 as well (best I can tell from a few minutes on M6board dot com). Did see a killer pic of a deep purple M6 though (love purple).

POST 37Original post

Dell - I guess I should have been more precise with my question. What I meant was "Smarty Jones (was a gelding) ? That does not ring a bell (I don't recall hearing that about him) ... can you explain?" Since I have only a casual interest in horse racing, I didn't know if SJ was or was not missing his "chestnuts." (I guess they really wouldn't be called CHEST-nuts, would they?)

POST 39Original post

Let's just say Smarty won't be "enjoying" his retirement years like the rest of colleagues (aka twig sans berries)
