Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can get it for $16,500 think that's a decent deal on this car? "Navigation, leather, tinted windows. Tires are great everything super clean. Clean title in hand. "

POST 2Original post

Seems like a good deal, get a PPI and see if it really is.

POST 3Original post

Yes it a good price. Get a good PPI and review all service records.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will do thanks guys, Any money to be made?

POST 7Original post

Looks nice. Are you looking for a car or trying to make a buck? It's a great deal on a Porsche(assuming the PPI doesn't turn up something terrible) but I think that, even in this economy, it's a risky "investment".

Yea he was asking $21,000, but is eager to sell it and apparently buy a turbo. Part it? No

Are you thinking of flipping it With a little patience, you might make yourself a couple of dollars

Yea I was planning on driving it for the summer and listing it for sale. I did similar with a couple 993's, but the 996 market is kinda weird from what I have been seeing.

POST 11Original post

That's a good deal as long as no major maintenance is needed. I'd be wary if seller is willing to drop price from 21k to 16.5k though.

Nice move. I suppose this is one way of advertizing a car for sale in the near future. Talk about reverse phycology at it's finest. Buy at $16,500 and sell at $21,000. Go for it man.

POST 13Original post

IMHO; At $16500, you are at the price point that you can make money if you wanted to flip / (wholesale it) it if you had a dealer tag. BUT, after paying title / tax / insurance, you might only be able to break even. Here are some Manheim numbers for a 1999 C4 Coupe. Note the dates though. Thanks for the Manheim numbers, I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow and if i get it, i'll register in Nevada which has no taxes just registration fees. Should be into reg for around $300

POST 15Original post

After you pay taxes maybe not so much to be mawhat de? But you could drive for a year and probably sell for what you purchased for ... so cost to drive could be zero! See sactown guy thread however if you do ppi ... make sure they look at the oil filter ........

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I went to go look at the car and everything was very nice, but the owner (poverty tats) refused to take it in for a PPI because he didn't have it registered and all this other bs. So I'm staying away from the car and the search continues....
