Its been a year now, and the Porsche dealer I've had an order with says Porsche hasn't reprinted the 2001 maintenance book for the 996. Anyone have any ideas to try and track down a new one? I bought my car as a lease return with 9,000 miles and it didn't come with one. Many thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Call Porsche of North America, and complain....I don't have their number handy, but it's listed in Atlanta.
My dealer got me one for a 2000 in about 3-4 weeks. You might try the guys at Eagleday. I know he'll go out of his way to get you what you need. Its worth a shot. Ask for Phillipe Bourguet. LINK:: http://www.eagleday.com/porschemanuals.html
I had the same problem on my MY 2001. I purchased the car used at Momentum Porsche in Houston but I lived in NC. I ordered a new maintenance book from my local dealership, Paramount Porsche, in Hickory. The book was on backorder for quite some time. Eventually, it came in. Because the wait was so long (over 6 months), they ended up giving me the manual for FREE.
