Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I need help. Where in the world is the backup light switch on my 04 Carerra. My car is currently up on jack stands while I refinish the rims so thought an ideal time to fix this. Also, does the engine have to be running to see/feel the exhaust actuator moving for the performance exhaust option? Thanks so much. Here's a pic of the rims which I picked up today, I'm extremely pleased... Ralph

Its on the transmission, passenger side near the mount on the upper side if I recall correctly

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks Chris, motor mount? Is it hard to get to? I've been looking but still haven't found it, of course I'm paranoid of the car falling while I'm on my back on the floor...

Figure 7 here http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...on_Removal.htm At the nose of the transmission.

Near the gearbox mount, it looks just like a large bolt with a spade poking out. Again going off memory. I connected mine when my transmission was not fully up in the car, so might be harder when its in place. Also I *think* the PSE valves operate off vacuum, so the engine needs to be running to actuate them, might be wrong about that Put extra stuff under your car in case your jack stands fail, this board would ridicule your widow if she was trying to sell your car on here post crush....
