would appreciate any help please... i am planning to get my husband a 911 turbo for xmas. he has a 928 at present, and has been a money pit.. had i/we known that the 928 had so many BIG things that can go wrong with it, i/we may have been slightly more cautious.. hence this thread.. i have seen a 2002 911 turbo with 75K, its manual and im really looking for some advice on what issues to look out for, as i WILL be getting it inspected this time.. are there any major issues i need to tell the mechanics to look out for when doing the inspection? thank you so much in advance Shelley

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Shelley, Well you came to the right place, but the wrong sub-forum. Head over to the 996 turbo forum for some more expert advice. There are a few turbo regulars here though, but most of us own or are into normally aspirated cars (can't afford a turbo or prefer non-turbo cars). That being said the turbo platform is generally regarded as a very solid car with a very solid engine platform, especially compared to the NA 996 car. Best of luck!
WOW! that was fast. Thanks.
Most of the turbo are rock solid cars. I would look for one that has not been tuned or molsted with changes.
Nice idea for a Christmas gift! I need to get my wife to stop slacking in the Christmas gift department!
How can I get n your Xmas list? Your husband is a very lucky man.
