Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Interesting. Will a 996 ever be collectable? That price is crazy. Crazy good or crazy bad is the question.
Maybe in 30 years.
Plus you know the engine oil hasn't been changed often, you can add the cost of an IMS bearing to that price.
'99 should be the dual row IMS, I personally wouldn't waste my money. Love the red over tan combo.
I know someone who has a '99 cabrio with around 6,800 miles on it. It gets driven very rarely, gets serviced even more rarely, has sat outside for long periods of time, has sat inside for long periods of time, has gone for stretches as long as 3 or 4 years between oil changes, and is otherwise in pristine condition (besides a few dings and some paint rubbing from an outdoor cover)... It runs well, but who knows what the engine internals are like. I wouldn't pay $10k for it.

there was a millennium edition on eBay from a collection about a year ago. Less than 1,000 miles asking was like $60k
Last year Marshall Goldman had a 05 Turbo S Coupe with 193 miles. Yes 1 9 3. They wanted $250,000

The Turbo is a completely different engine and therefore ballgame... $250k is questionable, but not out of the question - eventually That's really more likely pristine GT3 territory, but who knows - there are many, many people with massive amounts of $ and want what they want...

Overpriced and its near me.....That red 996 is just a dumb price But its a Porsche dealer price...... https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=174236268 This 996 beats both those cars hands down.....but also too high.....$26k to $27k I might be tempted to talk

If any 996 is collectible, that one makes the top 5 of my list. And you get a nice trip to Brekenridge. I would buy that at $30k if it wasnt missing xenon, clear turn signal, newer model CD player and I personally prefer the factory Carrera wing to the Taco wing.
