Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Granted it was a 1999 GT3, but its still a 996 nevertheless. This months issue. The article premise was pretty simple. Pick any 3 car for a lifetime and you cant ever change. So along with the usual vintage Ferraris, rare muscle cars, brand new AMGs, brand new Ford trucks, there was a 1999 996 in somebodys 3 car list. I thought that was pretty cool, especially since I have a MK1 Aero Tip (making the front a look alike).

Very cool to read. Not that this matters to my impression of my own car - I will always be a 996 fan - but it is definitely fun to witness the attitude shift among our peers. How many miles have you put on the Cali so far? If you're a true Ferrari owner I'd guess 5... 10?

LOL, less than 20 miles and 15 of those was going to the dealer for a recall & because the oil cap was fused shut to the engine. The car is just okay. Center of gravity is way too high. To me at least, the flat-6 still sounds much better. The rear is shockingly ugly compared to the beautiful 911. Ive learned to avoid approaching the car directly from the rear because of how ugly it is. Once you make it inside the Poltronau Frau interior with Daytona seats, its all good. Its got a better interior, Ill give it that. Dealer service is just okay. We MOST Definitely do not provide a loaner car. Saw more tax cheats (way, way out of state license plates) at the service center than Porsche. If you can afford a brand new 488, you can afford to pay property taxes and support the local kids in school. That sums up my Ferrari ownership experience so far. Thanks for asking!

That is cool, thanks for the heads up. I bought an e30 almost 10 years ago, built it into the car I wanted it to be and currently enjoy it almost everyday. Over the past decade, that car went from one no one cared about (except those racing spec e30) given they were old and slow, to now being one trending upwards rapidly. I'm not sure how well the M96 will fare over the next decade, but I can see the same thing happening here. I'm a new owner, but I'm completely in love with these cars. Oh and you do know how to dance in a pcar forum, lol. As far as important metrics go, that Cali is vastly superior in almost every way possible to a 996. If fuel door shut lines and design from certain angles were metrics of a good or bad car, most would be bad
