Does anyone know if it's possible to find the paint code somewhere on a convertible hard top? These pop up on eBay constantly and it's always a back and forth to the seller trying to figure out if its the "right" shade of blue (they almost never know). I suspect that the answer is "no", but since I don't actually have one to look at, I figured that I'd ask. Cheers.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It would match the paint code off the owner's Cabriolet since they were sold together. It's my understanding that Porsche painted the car and the hard top at the same time. Therefore, if you ask the owner what car it came from, you'll get the right color. Of course, you know where to locate the paint code information on the car, right? If you're buying it from a dismantler, then it's going to hit and miss. You could always buy the most inexpensive one on eBay and then have a professional body shop computer match it to your car and repaint it.
