2003 - 996. I have had the odd "oil pressure sender failure" dash warning from time to time, and recently noticed a minor oil leak dripping from what appeared to be near the oil pressure sender, which dripped onto the front most coil pack and surrounding area.. Ordered the sender, assuming the oil leak was probably coming from a faulty sender. Upon removing the old sender, and sliding my hand in to get to the sender I noticed some oil on the black plastic corrugated electrical conduit above it, and the black taped wiring that runs alongside the engine near the sender which suggest oil spraying upwards, as I can't see anywhere oil can drip down from above. There appears to be another sensor of some type with an electrical connection forward of the oil pressure sender which looks oily When I removed the old oil pressure sender there was no sign of any oil directly around where the sender mounts. There is no noticeable drop in oil level, so I would guess its a minor "spray" from somewhere Any ideas?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Could be a number of things I imagine. AOS line might have a crack in it. Oil cooler O-rings fail etc... Get a $40.00 Borescope and have a good look around the area.
