Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone tell me what size bolt I am missing? And should there be a captive retainer underneath to secure it? And if its not clear, this is the left side of the engine compartment just above the bumper. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

It's an M6. #5 here http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=108-05 The nut is welded to the chassis.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Great, thanks! Should I be concerned if I don’t have a backing nut? I had an M6 in my drawer, and it just goes right in without any resistance. The diagram shows it being backed by a speednut, so perhaps I need that as well... Just have to spend a little more time to see how I can get my hand back there.

POST 4Original post

Yeah, looks like you need that speed nut on your mkI. On mu MkII all the nuts are welded on the body frame.

POST 5Original post

Yes, just replaced that same speed nut today. 99950020600 is the part number

POST 6Original post

If the nut underneath is gone, but the rubber grommet is still there, buy a larger SS bolt that fits snug in the grommet and you are good to go. The SAI pump does not move around and mainly just needs to be held in place. BTW, that is what I have done and all is well.
