I lost a bunch of coolant and need a gallon (if not more) and Porsche Hawaii wants $60.00 + $15.00 shipping as I'm on another island. a gallon! Is there anything else compatible that can be mixed in? I've got 8 mos on my fresh batch and don't want to waste what's there..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I will chime in to what should be an interesting thread... Near me, autozone sells a Peak coolant called Original Equipment Technology - European Vehicles Extended Life Pink. It includes Porsche models I think up to 997 on label if Im not mistaken. I topped off new Porsche coolant when I had to replace my coolant tank the 2nd time in a month (dont ask) and the engine hasnt exploded yet. (*Quietly tip toes from room*)
Or
I don't have answer for the mixing different brands question, but I'd give u this if u were closer.

How about distilled water? You live in Hawaii, correct? What's your risk of sub-freezing temps?
Quotes source post: 16052651
Hell would freeze over first. Freezing's not my concern...Would there be any concern about to much dilution?
Quotes source post: 16052773
Probably not. If you started with 50/50 mix of six gallons - now you'd be close to 40% if you add about one gallon of water. Since you aren't worried about freezing, the anti-freeze is primarily to protect the metals from oxidation. 40% should be more than enough - and would even be a high enough concentration to protect from freezing down to about -12F.

Got it. I'll add enough distilled watere to get it to the min mark and then top off with the same amount of concentrate to bring it up to max if I find one of the two options (Zerez G-40 or OET by Peak) mentioned above. Damn, I've added 3.5 gal of coolant burped and am still under the min mark. My temp gauge barely left the zero of 180* Glad my commute was short that day!
