Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know what the theory is behind the air injection, vacuum tank system on a 1999 996 C4 3.4L? Im trying to figure out how to pipe up all the small diameter tubes. Driving crazy! Every bit of info I can find on the net is not for my engine.

POST 2Original post

There's a post here somewhere that shows the entire system - I don't remember the thread offhand but if you do a search you should be able to find it...never mind, see below Is this^^^ what you're looking for? Also, here http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=108-05

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mate! Thats exactly what I was looking for. I searched everywhere but nothing as clear as that. I had visions of swapping pipes over and over for hours. Thanks for you help!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im glad you put this up. I think! The previous post shows two change over valves. Mine only has one. However this post involves the fuel pressure regulator which mine has. Im assuming the over change over valve operates fuel by pass. Thank you for the reply!

POST 7Original post

No. See where the blue line is? A single hose from underneath the plenum goes to the fuel pressure regulator.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok! Not sure why the plenum pressure is operating the fuel pressure regulator but Ill go with it. One question remains, when comparing the two systems why has the first have two change over values and the second just one?

POST 9Original post

A is the vacuum supply from the vacuum canister...B is for the operation of the resonance flap. The plenum is not under "pressure" but is under vacuum (or negative pressure).

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
