if anyone in the Seattle area wants to get their mufflers modded (Gundo or Fister style) I just it done at this place https://themetalmagician.net/ . Mike was really easy to work with and he did a great job (with really quick turnaround). He TIG welded the bypass pipe and it all looks and works great.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Did you use a generic 90 degree elbow, or did he create a bypass from scratch. Something I've been considering to get a little extra volume from my fabspeed Maxflo's.

I paid $220, but most of that was shop time. He'd never done this before so the first muffler was a learning event. The second one was done more quickly. So... it may be cheaper for the next people (you're welcome). I also had him purchase the stainless tubing so that was part of the cost.

He purchased the tubing and then welded in it. It was pre-bent but it's not a 90 degree bend (it's much less). He made it about as straight as he could.
Did you remove the mufflers or did he?

Based on his other post asking how o remove the mufflers, I am going to guess he removed them. I could be wrong but I feel I have seen other posts where people paid in the ball park of what he did and the shop removed them?

I removed them and re-installed them. I usually do all the wrenching on my cars. I would have done the welding if I had the equipment. I have a MIG welder, but I didn't have the proper wire and I wanted it to be TIG welded anyway. I've welding in the past, and it's not a complicated job, but for the money, it was easier to just pay someone to do it.

Thanks for info. Definitely something to try in the future. Once I get the 996 back from the dealer. Hopefully reliably running.
