Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I assume you're talking about the front diff (either a turbo or C4?). Yes you can remove it with the tranny in the car, and it isn't too difficult. Make sure you have the car jacked up safely and high enough to work under it.

sorry should be more clear. Talking about rear diff on a 1999 c2 6spd manual.

Give it a shot. If it doesn't work, just pull the transmission.

duh...good point. Procedure is the same!

Yes it can be done, have done it a few times, (commented on your other post also).
We took out my stock c2 diff and put in a limited slip with the tranny in the car . Need a hoist though or a good quickjack lift .

Why a hoist?
Because you need to get it up higher than normal jack stands. It's not really a lying on your back job
