Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need some information about the LN Nickies. I will rebuild my Engine (3.6 M96/03) and i think i will go with the LN Nickies. My Question , if i take the 3.6 to 3.8 Nickies what else i need to chance? Do i need a special head gasket? other special things they do not come with the Nickies? Would be great i get some Information....

POST 2Original post

Not sure what the LN solution costs, but Porsche actually offers a pretty cost effective rebuild option; a short block 3.6L (996-100-996-UX) costs around $6.5k This would give you something close to a new engine presuming your heads are still okay.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thx Silvergray but the Porsche shortblock is not an option for me. If i rebuild my engine i will do it once....

POST 4Original post

I'm going from 3.6 to 4.0 just talk to LN they can give you all the Info and all the parts needed

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thx Zookie, for now i'm doing some research, what else i need if i take the Nickies. 4.0 is to much for me, i will go max 3.6 to 3.8 and i will do all the rebuild (engine) by myself....

POST 6Original post

You should consider taking Raby's M96/M97 engine class before you rebuild. Invaluable info is discussed all three days!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thx Bill i*m thinking about to take also a engine class but for now i will know what special parts i need for the Nickies.....

POST 11Original post

Not many. On top of my head, custom pistons, pins and rings and head gaskets. Just email LN and they will be more than happy to answer these questions.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 13Original post

I did my rebuild more than a year ago so parts may have changed. The best is just contact LN and discuss with them.
