Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Excellent, thanks - neat to see. And they say they are set up to rebuild one engine a day - hard to imagine with the machining etc.

You Tube Good look at the heads and valve train

I guess seeing the video speeded up and mentioning doing 1/day may have implied that is from car in to car out - but it is not. We have several permanent technicians all doing different parts of the whole rebuild process and of course also rebuild just engines and machine and fit new cylinders to just cylinder blocks. As long as any one part of the process doesn't take longer than 1/day it is possible - it is just a question of each operation shunting the work along to the finish and 1/day coming off the production line at the end of it having been in process for several days. If we divide the number we complete by the number of working days/year it is close to one/day and similarly if we compare the number of liners we fit/6 that is not far off either (but a bit less as not everyone has liners or all 6 liners).
