I have a 996 c2 manual coupe 3.4 In the UK , quite early car with 100,000k good overall condition, rebuilt the engine with lots of new parts including ims and rms, aos and so on Had a small accident skidded on some ice and took out the front wheel hub going over the kerb and damaged the back wheel and tyre also. Anyway insurance wants to write it off even though damage is not so bad but I'm not sure if they have offered me enough?? My car has a previous CAT D on it which I'm told reduced the value by 20 percent. They offered me 9.5k so if I convert that to a non CAT D car by adding 20 percent it comes out at 11400 , does that sound enough to you?? Also to thicken the plot , when I insured the car a year ago, values were lower and with the CAT D, I only valued it at 10k as I knew they would knock off 2k for the previous CAT D , but now it seems valued have risen ?? Can they hold you to an approximate value?? One of the advisors did let slip that they pay to market value not the value estimated by the owner do not sure. Also they say they value on Glasses guide and Cap?? Not eBay / autotrader etc , I've sent them ads for loads of cars priced at 15k but they say they are selling lower?? It's a nightmare, I've got to go to the complaints level to proceed further or I can take the 9.5k They offered me the car back for 2850 plus 6650 payout Any help much appreciated, should I concede or dig in my heels ???

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Insurance in the UK sounds very complicated. If you have an independent broker there, maybe ask them.

Have you had the damage evaluated by a body shop? Do you know if there is subframe and/or damage to the tub itself? I feel like for 6650 Pounds you could get the car sorted and have cash left over. That is... if there is no further damage than what you describe.
Seems more than fair. Your CAT D is equivalent to Salvage Title in US. If you do any damage to your salvage titled car here, insurance automatically totals it. There are no repairs. Offer of $14k for salvage titled early 996 with 3.4 seems beyond generous.
