The inner passenger-side door handle on my 2003 C4 Cab does quit working. Not loose at all, it just won't open the door from the inside. Broken/loose cable? Other options? Opens fine from outside. Also the window on that side will not go down the last inch or so. Otherwise works perfectly. Ideas before I take the door panel off?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I think it's very likely that the door pull cable is broken. i just went through replacing one on the driver's side. The spring in the inner door pull is independent of the cable, so it's normal for the handle to feel the same even when the cable is broken. Also, the cable secures pretty solidly on both sides, so it probably didn't just come loose. Once one side is broken, the loose cable could fall down and block the window also if it gets jammed between the window and surrounding frame. You will know right away if it's broken once you have the door panel off because you can see both ends pretty easily. If it is broken, replacement cables are only about $25. The door pull side is easy to access. I was a bit lost on how to access the door latch side, so I posted this thread ( https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ull-cable.html ) and it wasn't difficult once I received some advice. If you haven't taken the door panel off before, this video covers it: You Tube
