Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Seems like such a simple question, but the answer is elusive. I haven't been able to find the answer in lots of RL searching and Googling. I have a line on a nicely priced set of 2005 Carerra S (997) sway bars, but I have a 2000 Carerra (996), that I think would be a mild upgrade. Thanks!

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No need to answer this for me anymore. Do to uncertainty on the answer, I'm sticking with 996 sways (MO30 to be exact). Thanks. If anyone does know the answer, it might be nice to post it for future RLers who have the same question and search on this topic?

POST 3Original post

Suspension parts vary in the same year for different models of the 911, so even if they fit they wouldn't likely be as good as the correct part. Whether most owners would notice is a question I haven't seen answered..

POST 4Original post

997 sways do not fit 996. FYI, I have an extra set of 996 GT3 sways which will fit any 996.

For sale? how much!

POST 6Original post

They are $1090 new, I'll take $560. Includes bushings.

POST 7Original post

Have a look at h&r swaybars , tire rack often has good prices on h&r

POST 8Original post

You are much better off buying a used set of GT3 bars than a new set of h&r. They are lighter, stiffer, tougher and have better adjustment. The eibach are POS's that have been known to break. If you don't want to pay for Porsche doing it the right way, Tarett makes a nice rear bar that can save you some money. But I don't like the design of the Tarett front bar near as well. Not trying to sell mine, just letting you know why it's the only bar I'll use and hence why I have an extra set.

POST 9Original post

FWIW aren't GT3 and M030 sway bars are the same diameter?

POST 10Original post

M030 front is 24mm and non-adjustable. GT3 front is 26mm and adjustable. GT3 on the loosest setting is quite a bit stiffer than the M030 US from my experience. No experience with the ROW M030.

POST 12Original post

I had mo30's on my car , the h&r bars are much better , well made (german spring steel , forged adjustable ends) and perform well . They also come with poly bushes Great value for money
