Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I'm considering purchasing a 996 and I am looking for a shop in the greater Des Moines, IA area that could do a PPI. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Start on gnat's post #1537 and enjoy the show. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...finds-103.html IMHO, I think the car is a great deal and the current owner put a lot of time and effort restoring it. But unfortunately, he got offended by us RL members discussing it on the RL craigslist technical forum. To say he came *unglued* is saying it lightly.

POST 7Original post

I absolutely guarantee that person has ZERO first hand knowledge of the car. He is one of three people in the "Today's craigslist finds" thread that likes to continually bash peoples car without any factual basis. I would like to know how you would respond to a person making libelous statements out of nowhere about a car you are selling, which costed a sale of the car in the past.

1999 Aero...chill out. You are totally consumed with protecting the honor of your car. This thread goes back to June and you seem just as angry. Have some coffee, grab a good book or maybe do some yoga and meditate. Life isn't that serious, bro.

POST 9Original post

sweet car (seriously) since buying an 03 C2 I've been successfully brainwashed by slakker et al. into believing the MK1 aero is the peak of M96 style. Plus it has LSD.. who doesn't like a good trip in an LSD-equipped Carrera?

I completely agree. The car is very nice and would be a steal at $10,000 and even an awesome deal at $15,000. The restoration looks better than most I've seen and if it would pass a good PPI, it would be a grand slam. If you bought the OEM aero kit by itself, you'd be looking at some serious $$$ and you'd have to have it painted to match your car which means more $$$. I just upgraded my bumper to the TT style and noticed that Porsche has the mk1 aero kit priced right at $8,000. That's a big chunk of change!

Salvage titles are just brutal on resale values though.
