Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Where can I find the OEM Porsche emblem hood crest replacement for 03 996 C2 ? Mine kinda "flew" off my hood yesterday. Really weird, I guess the adhesive or whatever was keeping it there failed, didn't seem normal.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

oem though? or are those replicas?

POST 4Original post

The only genuine crests are found at the dealership...all others are usually aftermarket. They dont just "fly off" They are put on with speed nuts.

POST 6Original post

Watch out to get the older (more expensive one) as the new ones look cheap as hell - I just went thru this.

How do you mean? Is this one ok? Hood Crest Link

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well it doesn't matter it's either the $75 one or this one Pelican Parts Hood Crest and I am not gonna pay $180 for this.

POST 10Original post

I dont see the part number on the link - you want (IMO) 996-559-211-01 - badge 7L5-853-611-B - Gasket 999-591-423-03 - nut x2 (edit) I see the Pelican price - Call Sunset, I paid much less than that out the door - the Pelican looks like the right one to me out the door was not $180 at sunset... not sure about suncoast - but if that one shown is the "NEW" one, you are better off with some knock off, they just look cheap as hell - I held both in my hand and it was a NO BRAINER GL

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok i paid $74 from Suncoast, 996-559-211-01-KIT. Looks pretty damned good to me. Taking a closer look, it seems like the two prongs that attach to the back of the old badge had somehow become unattached, whether someone was trying to take it off or the back of the two prongs cement/glue/solder had failed. Thanks for the heads up.
