what's the function of the gill slits behind the rear wheels on an S? Looks like there are louvers underneath. Is it just to pull heat out of the engine compartment? I assume it's for intercooler exit air on a turbo? Ken

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Flux capacitor inlet.
The C4S is the turbo look/brakes/suspension w/o the the turbo. The louvre is actually closed and non functioning on the S. On the turbo it is the outlet cooling air for the intercoolers.
ElTorrente ..... would they not be for flux capacitor outlet? Or, is it possible to alter the polarity of the nearby muffler bearings, since as we all know from high school physics, lines of force and flux obey the "right hand rule". Are the body panels in this area carbon fiber, or something that is non-ferrous so as not to interfere with the flux? Can the flux be vectored with a plasma collar so as to add thrust in the lower gears? Or, better yet, be directed sideways to offset lateral thrust and improve tire life? Does this require a larger alternator, or is the energy source from harvesting brake energy? What is the option code for this wonderful device so I can look for it when I go car shopping?

To answer your questions, no. I believe the gills were simply carry-over from the turbo. Why make another bumper when you have a perfectly good one to use that looks good?
