Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

OEM GT3 wheels on my C4s. I like 'em but I'm biased.

Those look great. Nice and simple.

POST 8Original post

If you are a little patient there will be some Fuchs Racing wheels coming out in the Fall. They are one-piece forged alloys of the same windmill design from the 70s and 80s. Sizes will be available for 997, 996, and others. They are starting with 19s and 18s. Also will have 20s.

I'm not sure what the windmills look like, can you post a picture?

who's got photos???

POST 12Original post

Here's what the classic old windmilll wheels by Otto Fuchs look like--and then picture them on a newer Porsche...

It's about the looks not the price for me. I have a seal gray C4s. I think I would like dark gray, not black.

I do like those. Where do I get them?

Are those the 18x11 Sport Technos? Did they come from the factory or were they installed somewhere down the line? Thanks!

POST 19Original post

The Sport Techno was available as an OEM wheel for the C4S starting in 2003 (I think...). They are 11x18 rear and 8x18 front. You can get OEM wheels or replicas from a variety of sources. I bought those at www.wheelenhancement.com . The ones pictured are actually for my winter tires, so they are 10x18 in the rear and 8x18 in the front. I think it's one of the better looking OEM wheels... we have them on the Cayenne too.

POST 20Original post

Forgeline or Techart,I have both as I could not decide.

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What about these. Is 12" too wide? (CH-R)

POST 23Original post

Nice looking wheel... but I don't know if 12" would fit or not. Do they make it in 11"?

POST 24Original post

12s and 315/25/19s fit on the widebody (C4S), but I don't think BBS makes these in 12s.

POST 25Original post

I had the Champion RG5B's on my C4S. They look stunning, but were 19" wheels. I switched to an 18" GT3 wheel and it transformed the ride! You can get the RG5's in 18", but not the B's. Champion's are very expensive though!

What is the difference ? rough drive or handling ?

POST 28 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7655387

12" is the size they show on their website. I think these wheels would look great on a seal gray 4S.

POST 29Original post

The rough ride! Tires were 235/35 and 315/25. That's just not enough sidewall, imo. Can't comment on the handling, as I don't track her...I didn't notice any difference for "spirited" driving. Hey look, they were great on smooth highways.....but there aren't that many really smooth highways ou there! I also bought some PSS9's, but have yet to install them. I think the ride/handling will really be perfect, then. Plus, as good as 19" look...I'll think it'll look good lowered, with the 18". Frankly, I wish there was a better selection for 18" wheels (especially widebody fitment), but most brands/styles are 19" minimum, nowadays. I really want some Techart Formulas, but alas no 18" for widebodies.

You gotta make sure it's the right offset, too, for 996 C4S/Turbo fitment.
