Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I always park in a safe spot at work. ALWAYS. Except Friday a crane was blocking the parking lot so I had to park in the rear. I come out at lunch and this is what I see.

POST 2Original post

You must be kidding me ... the truck drover must have been a mouth breather for sure if he was not aware of the damage ...

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

To top it off - birds crapped all over the car.

POST 4Original post

Man that really sucks. So what was his explanation?

POST 7Original post

If there are no scratches or impact cracks in the windshield he probably did not even notice the contact.

POST 8Original post

Man, W T F is wrong with dumb drivers/people!?

POST 9Original post

Looks like the pick-up boy did that because he's an ******* and you have a P-car. Did it to **** you off.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When I found him and confronted him he denied it until I showed him the picture with his snow blade mount shoved into my car. He claims he did not know he hit me. So when he goes out to his truck he obviously sees it. Then he backs his truck up and my bumber moves down and forward. What an idiot.

We really have no way of knowing that. If that's how it did go down, you'd expect that he'd be smart enough to back off the car so it's not obvious that he did it. I had a guy in a ratty pickup do the same thing to me once at the gas station...

POST 12Original post

I feel your pain. Friday, definitely was not a good day to take the Pcar to work.

+1 He wasn't expecting to get busted. And when approached by you, of course he is going to respond with "duh...I didn't know..." Just like any other common criminal when confronted with evidence about their crime: "Duh...I didn't do it..." Nobody ever confesses to their petty or more serious crimes - it's the American way - Not even the President

POST 14Original post

What an a$$hole move by the guy in the truck. If you see a car like a Porsche in front of you you're going to give it some room even if you don't know the dimensions of your car, it's just common respect for not damaging something that is "nice" This was done on purpose, no doubt about it...

I would not be so quick to say that.... and trust me I am one cynical bastard. People are generally inattentive and just don't care so he may have just bombed right in the spot, maybe he was texting.. but he's an ******* for damn sure.

I'm not sure that the car being a Porsche has anything to do with it. Shouldn't matter what kind of car you're parking next to, just don't run into it. You're the second person to say that, but there's absolutely no evidence of such. OTOH, the fact that the guy left his truck parked there suggests that he didn't realize what he had done. My DD is a 3/4-ton pickup...if I wasn't paying attention, that could easily happen. Hell, like I said in another post, someone has done this to my car while I watched--the old man that got out of the truck was oblivious to the fact that my car was even there. Not everything revolves around us driving Porsches, fellas, and I just see no evidence whatsoever to suggest that the damage was done on purpose... Just sayin'...

I'm not implying that the brand has anything specifically to do with it. But what I meant is if you see a car in decent condition and you know you're not absolutely certain about the dimensions of your vehicle, you're going to back off a bit. When I drive our SUV I know I'm not as familiar with it's dimensions as I am with my vehicle. So I'll give myself a bigger buffer when parking since I'm not absolutely positive how close I really am. I'll give him a pass if he's unfamiliar with this vehicle but if that were the case he should have checked to make sure he didn't hit what was in front of him. If it was inattentiveness, there is no excuse for that when parking head-on into a spot. Backing up I can understand since the car sits pretty low, but if you can't see a car directly in front of you then frankly you don't belong on the road.
