Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey folks, Noticed a very small leak, orangish color, coming from the passenger side rear of the car. I only took a quick look but it appears to be coming from a seal right at the point where a large rubber hose connects. At first I thought it was from the hose clamp but a better look makes me think it is from the metal piece the hose connects to. Super small leak but want to get ahead of it. Very difficult spot to reach as it sits above the exhaust system. Would love some direction here. Car runs fine, no loss of oil pressure, no smoke, idles fine, etc. Thanks

What year? Has the coolant expansion tank been changed?

POST 4Original post

Sounds like coolant. Is it the main coolant hose or the smaller 90 deg hose on the bottom of the engine? Regardless it is a very easy fix! Both connections have gaskets that can be replaced. Remove the airbox if it is the upper large hose, it will be right there, easy fix.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

sorry for the lack of details. Have not had time to take a picture. The car is a 99 cab. Second motor. Its not the small hose at the bottom. Its the big hose that is above the exhaust system. It does look like it is directly below the airbox. Seems like the leak is coming from a gasket of some sort between two metal parts, not the hose itself. Hope that makes sense. B

Is it dripping on the floor of the garage or do you just see some orange stuff in that area? I'm thinking dried cosmoline.
