This may be a dumb question but how do you keep credit seperate? Can you be married and have seperate credit? When you marry, do credit agencies automatically combine credit? I have a very high credit score but my Fiancee has very little credit, everything was bought with cash for her. I dont want my credit being reduced due to hers. Of course, once she builds up hers I am totally fine with combining, I just dont want to be hindered until I buy a house.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Oops, meant to put into OT. Sorry doods.
- build together, but separate, hers doesnt effect yours a visa versa - unless both of your names are on an account
From what I understand, your credit histories will be separate just like it should. But whatever accounts/loans that bear both your names will affect both credit histories. Example: Her past or current individual reports won't affect yours, but whatever she does or do not do in accounts with you, will affect you. In other words, you will most likely be helping her build her credit
In any event, YOU are going to pay!
Bawaaahahaaahaahaa ^^^^^ and pay and pay !! j/k
Thanks guys! Great info and the same I got in OT.
One thing you can do to build up her credit quickly is to add her as an authorized user on your credit cards. Call up, ask for a card for your spouse, and don't tell her about it or give her the card! (I guess you could, but anyway) What happens is that your good credit on those accounts will be conferred to her in part, helping her to build credit without having to resort to joint accounts.
Thanks guys. Locking thread now.
