I'm getting a noticeable ticking sound from the engine on start which usually lasts about 1 minute and then it stops. Any ideas what it could be? Fan belt system perhaps? Is anyone else experiencing the same? 2000 C2 Cheers and safe driving.

There is an electric valve above the alternator that is connected to the throttle body. This is the egr valve that operates periodically as needed to have unburned gases flow back into the intake. This valve has a noticable ticking (very fast) when it is operating.
