I chose my car when I bought it partially to be unique (back in May). Then I started seeing another '99 in Mirage Metallic cruising around town and I was somewhat put out. I've since met the guy who is very cool and we complimented each other on our cars and all is well. Now today I'm driving through town and here comes a C4S headed towards me... it passes me and my jaw drops open - it is the same color - Mirage Metallic! I didn't know they even offered that color on later models - I thought it was a '99 color only! Damn! It must've been a special order. Honestly, I'm a big fan of the C4S body style and now with one in my favorite color in my town... I'm feeling sick.
Yeah, yeah. But take into account there are 10 or less 996's in all and a third are the same color.
I truly love my car so I'll get over it.
And btw, I grew up in that area. I lived near the carlsbad raceway, went to San Marcos H.S. and grew up surfing the jetties in carlsbad. It's my home surf spot!
I can't believe how much it's grown since then.
It has grown crazy in teh last 4 years. I love Ponto and take the kids there all the time. I grew up going to Hawaii to visit my uncle who lived near Diamond Head and took the kids last year to Maui!

Once a year or so. My family has all moved out to Corona, of all places. My sister loves to go to the outlet mall in Carlsbad so it is often on our stopping by list.
My regular spots were Tamarack and Mezcalf. Actually I was more of a skateboarder. I was on the G&S amatuer skateboard team while in H.S. We skated at Carlsbad skate park.
lots of memories of all the strawberry fields that used to be surrounding the raceway... Now? I'm more into motocross. I remember watching Marty Smith win in Carlsbad when I was a kid and seeing him surrounded by chicks in bikinis - wishing I was him.
Heh- OT: I grew up in Hawaii. I remember flying into Kona airport when I was in the fourth grade for a field trip around Hawai'i. It consisted of a few tin hangers and several grass huts! My how things have changed!!!
Good news! The car is actually "Meridian Metallic", which is very close to "Mirage Metallic". The guy driving it is cool as well. I look forward to meeting him. I'll probably feel sick seeing his beautiful car next to mine... I just love C4S's.
