Hi everybody! I'm new here and I need some advices from the 996's experts. I want to buy my first Porsche, and it's a 996 C2 or C4 manual gearbox, black or silver, the advice is to buy in a official dealer or not, warranties? What are the things that I should be careful with, e.g. suspension, engine etc By the way I'm from Lisbon Many thanks, JDEM

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Oh man...you are going to get yelled at for not using the search. Hold on tight. I have silver because black is so hard to keep flawless. There is the RMS issue which seems to be overblown but worth checking out. If you can get a CPO car, you will pay a little extra but have the peace-of-mind that a warranty can provide. Lurk here for a while and read a lot of the threads and you'll figure it out. Welcome to the club (soon).
Buy at an official dealer OR from a private seller with warranty. Warranties will NOT Xfer from non-porsche dealer to private.
Many thanks! Probably I'll buy in Germany in an official dealer
Simply put, get the youngest car you can afford. I really like the full leather option (leather dash).
