Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I plan on driving my C4 over the coming Chicago winter. Is there anything that I need to do in prepration for the harsh weather that I will no doubt face? I have installed the hard top, but am wondering if there is anything that I should have done to the soft top before putting it down for the next three or four months. (god, I hate even typing that!) Thanks for any input

POST 2Original post

Just make sure when you lower the soft top that you do 2 things: 1. make sure the plastic top folds into a smooth taco shape with NO hard creases, etc. (you can make sure of this by stopping it just before it is totally in the rear and get in into position yourself and then continue retracting the top into the back. 2. and probably most important is to get either one of those long skinny body pillows or a rolled up beach towel, etc, to place inside the fold of the plastic top to help protect it over the winter. Now, if your C4 is one with the glass rear window, then disregard the previous and just drop that top and put on the hard top.
