Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been looking at new cars and finding 2005s that have round lights and earlier style? Explanation Please.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

One more thing are ALL 2005s wide bodies? They seem to look wider than my 99 C4.

POST 3Original post

C4S is considered a Wide-Body - and has some body parts in common with the Turbo. The 996 C4S and the 997 C4S were both produced in 2005. The 997 variant was introduced in November - after the Standard Carrera was introduced in early 2005. So yes, there are both 996 and 997 - 2005 models of the C4S. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_996 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_997

POST 4Original post

2005 was the transition year from the 996 to the 997. There were no narrow body c2 996 brought to the U.S. for the 2005 model year. However, the C4S and other models (GT2,3 I believe) were sold as 2005 model year cars with the 996 body style.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well that explains the confusion. I was about call a dealer and tell him he was BSing about the year.

996 and 997 were Produced together in 2005. Bacially Lower End Modles of the 997 and Higher end Models of the 996 mmmmm No. 2005 996's were C4S Coupe & Cab and TurboS Coupe & Cab which are Widebodies and GT3 which is Narrowbody 997 for 2005 was C2 Coupe & Cab and C2S Coupe and Cab which are Narrow Bodies. Incorrect for the NA Market. There was no 2005 997 C4S... 997 C4S Coupe and Cab were introduced for the 2006 Year

POST 7Original post

Zookie is correct. You can't buy a 2005 997 C4S.
