Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Guy's the handle to my glove box came off--looking at it how can i tell if the plastic is broken on the back--it doesn't appear broken (other than the fact that its on the floor)--it looks like i should be able to put it back together ---what am i missing here? Anyone have a picture of the back of a new one? Thanks!

I'm in the process of ordering a new one myself today. Mine has been hanging by a thread for months and finally it ended up on the floor of my car last night. It looks ghetto now...

POST 9Original post

It looks like Porsche designed it not for crassly pulling open the box. No, it must be gently activated by small soft hands of fair young virgins, who then stand back and watch in awe as it sublimely opens in all of its pneumatically controlled majestically to reveal it's cornucopia of treasures. The handle is attached to the lock mechanism by two delicate plastic loops. If you grasp it and firmly pull out to open the glove box you can permanently detach it for storage it in the center console. When you want to open the glove box just take it out of the console, insert it and activate the latch I got tired of looking for it when I wanted to get my gloves out so I replaced it. I was able to put the new one in while sitting in the passenger's seat.
