Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Greetings, I am new to the forum. I purchased my first 996(1999) three months ago, I love this work of art, it is stock with an aero pkg. Currently I am in Afghanistan with the armed Forces, didn't get a chance to drive my baby much when I bought it, had to get back in the fight(leave was to short). I will be heading home for leave again in a month or so, upon return I will be getting alot of windshield time, JUST CANNOT WAIT! Anyway, back to my baby,it is a six speed C2 completly stock and plan to keep it that way until I upgrade to a newer TT. I live in Florida and there are plenty of back roads to enjoy myself, but first I need to complete my mission here!

Hey Bro. Nice 996. Stay safe and thanks for your service...

POST 4Original post

Welcome and thank you for helping to protect this country. The 996 was my first Porsche and thus I am sentimentally very attached to this vehicle. As a matter of fact, I don't believe I will ever sell this car; indeed, it still puts a big smile on my face whenever I drive it. Come home safely so that you can enjoy one of life's small pleasures.

Hey, congrats on that sharp 996! The aero package looks great with those wheels, you got a nice one. Maybe you'd like to share a few more pics when you come back on leave again. Drive safe when you return, and in the meantime keep your head low. Great to see all the notes of appreciation for your service, thanks again brother.
