Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What do you think...hard to tell what really happened? Maybe a part-out deal? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...484394440&rd=1

POST 2Original post

Looks like it started life speed yellow and a couple cans or rustoleum later...lapis blue. Also, looks very dirty inside. Perhaps it also went swimming.

POST 3Original post

Looks like it was stolen and then painted over to "hide" the original color? Then of course, ragged all to hell. Don't think they are parting this one out. Looks like the warranty is gone, the paint is toast and no telling what abuse the engine, brakes, and suspension saw. The rest is purely cosmetic. At a starting bid of 60K and the reserve not even being met yet begs to quesion. What discount is worth it to you to own a GT3 like this??? Let's say they want 75K and you end up putting 20K into it (preimum paint job, totally once over, brakes, suspension, consmetic nickel and diming pieces) and the worst of it all--NO WARRANTY. Is a 15-20K discount off a GT3 worth it for no knowledge of history and no all importnat warranty. My immediate answer would be no. Not sure I could love a car properly not knowing what she's been put through while in car theft hell!

POST 4Original post

This is kind of like a thoroughbred racehorse that's been stolen, mistreated, and used as a pack mule. She'll need a lot of TLC to bring her back.

POST 5Original post

i wouldn't be surprised if this car was found at the bottom of a pond. there's dirt EVERYWHERE inside of it, on all surfaces. i guess it was stolen and repainted to hide the color while somebody had fun with it, then dumped it in a pond somewhere when they were done. the bright yellow car would have stuck out far too much, putting that drab blue paint job on it probably did a pretty good job of hiding it!

POST 6Original post

This is also posted on the GT3 forum. It is a theft recovery that was stolen off a dealers lot.

POST 7Original post

This was stolen from Ira Porsche a while back... you can also see details on the GT3 forum. And Sloth is not that slow after all... you beat me to it.

POST 8Original post

I saw a wrecked 2003 GT3 in much worse shape than this converted into an excellent, well-prepared race car. At the track, warranty and history don't mean doodlysquat. Steve 99 996 76 930 64 356C 62 356B racer

POST 10Original post

Quite possibly the best track-only candidate around. $60k for a track specific GT3 is a smokin' deal.

POST 11Original post

It seems to have suspension damage, don't know if its worth tampering with a car like that for 60k when there are ones out there to be had for low 90's
