Guys: I have been looking for an answer to a question in the search area but cannot come up with a decent answer. Would a set of TT wheels fit on a 01 C2? Loaded question as it concerns offset right? So I guess the more proper question is "what is the widest offset usable on my 01 C2?" For example, I found a set of 19's with a rear offset of 44. Is that to wide? I have seem some people advertise wheels that were on a TT but fit a C2. So I am confused. Thanks in Advance Offset Confused in Denver

The rear offset on the narrow body is 65. Some of us have spacers and agree about 7mm is the max. Forgot who, but somebody put the 17mm spacers on the rear and it was past the fender line and looked terrible. Doing the math, the "new" offset would have been 65-17=48. I would suggest nothing lower than about 55 for an offset. Personally, I have the 5mm spacers on my car and think the look is perfect. Long story short, wide body car wheels do not fit our rear.
yeah agreed with Dell, turbo wheels will not fit a narrowbody without serious modification.
Thanks for the clarification!
Well I'd take issue on the 17mm comment but it's personal taste......below is Carerra wheel on lowered 996 with 17mm spacers........personally I'd have custom wheels made with 50mm offset rather than this....but same dif. LVDell is correct, Turbo rears are definately a no-go for reg 996.......but 1st main reason for that is they are 11Js........that width would end up looking like a regular 996 wheel spaced out around 33mm..........nope.
Closer to 27mm (half the width is inside and half outside) but whose counting . Regardless, IMHO it is still too wide. But as Gregg said, it is personal taste. Best thing to do is see if anybody in your area has a 17mm spacer and try it out. But as for the turbo wheel, definitely a no-go. IIRC, there was a set of spacers that were circulating around here on the board from another 996'er that had only one stipulation....they are to be used to test out width and then send em on to the next guy. It basically comes down to personal taste and if you need to mod the fender (ie, roll it). Just find people in your area that have spacers of various sizes and go from there.
Dell: I found a set of 19's that are 19x10 in the rear with a 55 offset. If I read correctly that SHOULD work. Right?
Those would work just fine and probably look great. It would be like getting the correct wheels for you car and getting a 10mm spacer thrown in for free!
OOOPS mis read 19x11 52 offset. That might not work? Or would it? That is approx .5 wider inside and outside and 2mm closer right?
That would probably stick out in a way that is unpleasing to the eye.
