Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The phone rings while we're getting the kids ready for bed and the caller id says it's one of our neighbors/friends. I answer it and he asks me to come outside... I immediately guess that he bought a new car, but which one? I go outside and I hear a NICE exhaust note coming from 1 street over. He pulls up (it's dark) and I still can't really tell what it is... I can tell it's a 911 but the wing is different... I guess it's either a 997 GT3 or a 997 Turbo w/ aerokit. He corrects me and tells me it's an '08 GT2 with 50 miles!!! He took me for a ride and it was UNBELIEVABLE!!! The acceleration pushed my head into the seatback more than anything I've ever ridden in, AND, he never went over 5000rpm!!! Makes my 40th feel like a Honda, sorry Tim. Of course, I HAD to take a pic!

POST 2Original post

Don't let him crash it. Even with many years of.....uhhhh driving a guy has to get the feel of the 911 with the engine in the rear. Maybe get him in a good class so he can learn the charicteristic. Must of got you a good one seeing him one up you. Oh well you have to get a new one now. PS I guess you told him about the forum and warned him to take pictures to post in his first post

POST 3Original post

NICE!!!! BTW, I understand about the "Makes my 40th feel like a Honda....." comment. Hell, my Honda makes my Accord feel like.... well, a Honda!

POST 5Original post

My FAVE! I hope he's a REALLY good driver - one reason you see them with such low miles is, the average driver gets the **** scared out of themselves. If they live thru it, they often sell the car

POST 6Original post

Wow, that is all kinds of awesome! I saw a GT2 in a restaurant parking lot last week here in Louisville. That thing was bad *** on an entirely different scale of badassery. More like a logarithmic scale in fact.

POST 7Original post

Very nice, who wouldn't be happy with that aquistion?

POST 8Original post

With a purchase like that no wonder he couldn't wait until the next day to tell you!

POST 9Original post

Having ridden right seat in one at Road Atlanta can tell you that it really is an amazing car!!!

POST 10Original post

Somewhat related; just saw this post of a (6)GT2 and a Caterham on the 'ring. Enjoy link

POST 11Original post

That Caterham driver sure seemed to know what he was doing. I wonder what kind of shoe was in the GT2?

POST 12Original post

MAN we need a ring!! awesome vid.. here it get air at 1:50!! little scary at 2:11! holy **** @ 3:50! whoops, what gear? 6:36 damn good driving! The GT2 keeping up is amazing!

POST 13Original post

wow! in the cat's rear view, the GT2 was reeling him in then creating alot of space on the straights but the cat held it's own..

POST 14Original post

sweet car, be sure to take some photos during the day and post them up!

POST 15Original post

I could never own a Cat. I'd drive off the road watching those front wheels move as the suspension worked. Did seem to me the driver of the GT2 was not trying very hard. Sincerely, Macster.

POST 16Original post

Man, if that was my neighbor I'd have to move outta there.... j/k I'd be thankful just to ride in one.

POST 17Original post

24 hours later, have you called him back if he's scared himself yet? That much power in a rwd 911 form is amazing....
