Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

i dare you to compare, all 996 cars have engine failure and owners are subject to feeling inferior to my power and awesomeness.....

Hahah...Dallas, I needed something to make me smile this morning. This thread won't be the same without Ben though. However...since I still own my E46 M3 maybe I could play along in his absense?

M3's with Rod failures? http://www.dtmpower.net/forum/e46-m3...e-failure.html The problem with S54 motors burning up rod bearings, and occasionally tossing a rod is not really all that new to the design. Although it is an entirely different motor, the bottom end is very similar- almost identical- to the predecessor E36 S50/S52 Euro motors, which were also notorious for bottom end problems with rod bearings http://www.m3forum.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000932.html I like this quote I can't believe the problems some people are having with driving the car hard! a 911 would never do this! A 333hp car for under $60k?...I knew it was too good to be true!...Perhaps BMW should have given us a bit of a bigger engine or a supercharger so we don't have to have one that's SOOOO highly tuned!!!!
