Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Saturday was an amazing day. Drove up to Brandywine Porsche near Phila (great dealership) to look at their selection of cars, probably 30 911's between new and used. From their website they had a 2004 911 that had been titled to someone at Porsche with 600 miles on it for $66900 and we thought it would be a nice step up from our 01. When we arrived the first car my wife saw was a new 05 Carrera in speed yellow and she fell in love with it (is that the perfect wife or what). Has power seats, heated seats, Xenon and Nav.(pic taken at dealership, not my garage...darn)

That is one nice garage you have there Not to mention, an awesome wife who's more than understanding of the "addiction" we all have. Awesome car! More pics when you get the chance

POST 3Original post

That's a very nice car and color. Congratulations! Shopping trips can be fun after all.

POST 4Original post

Beautiful car!! As someone who drives a rather boring Seal grey '02, I must say I'm envious of those who have a little color in their life... Enjoy.

Thanks to all. Early driving impression compared to the 01. Car feels much tighter and more solid. Almost feels heavier, but in a good way (even though its not). Not nearly as harsh of a ride with the 18" wheels (same on 01) and I do not have the sport chrono or the PASM. Fit and finish in the interior is so much nicer, drives like a Porsche should but inside feels like we are in a Lexus. Standard seats much more comfortable than 01. Transmission (manual) shifts much cleaner and more precise (liked the shape of the 01 shifter better). Forgive me for saying this but the "creature comforts" like the cup holders, the rain sensing wipers, the automatic tilting of the outside mirror in reverse, and even the power outlet in the passenger foot well, make the car much more pleasurable getting from point to point when you are just out cruising. I guess the best way to sum it all up is to say that with the 01 my wife would drive it if I asked, with the 05....well I can't get the keys out of her hands. Still trying to decide if this is a good or bad thing!

POST 13Original post

Does your wife give lessons? Mine was understanding and supportive as long as I let her go crazy on the ShopNBC Jewelry channel after I upgraded from an 83 911SC to a 99 996. I keep passing the FEDEX delivery van as I pull out of driveway (seven months after my upgrade).

POST 14Original post

I had the same impressions going from my 01 c4 to my 2004 C4S... so many improvements. Good luck!

POST 15Original post

Hi HJ, I am curious about your experience with the 99 so far. I am looking at an upgrade from 79 SC targa to 99 Cab. Would appreciate your comments. You can send me a PM, since it is not really relevant to this thread. Jay

Did you trade in your 01? If so, did they give you a good deal?
