Got my '04 C4S today from Isringhausen. The Atlas/Black car with 1K miles. Car is great, but found a couple of minor problems. First, the damn front lip spoiler is so low that the driver scratched it getting into my driveway - we did find a way to get the car in and out without damaging it again - I'm willing to wet sand it on the underside to fix it - pretty unnoticable. Also found that the lower side molding was misaligned in front of the rear wheel well by about 1/2 inch - dealer acknowledged that likely happened during transport (?) and will make good on repair. Also, the carpet adjacent to the console had a 1" hole clear through it - appears to have been cut - my guess is the previous owner had a phone or something connected internally. The dealer is talking about paying to have the carpet patched - if it's perfect, I'll be ok with that - but I insisted that if patching isn't recommended by my local dealer (Holberts in Warrington, PA) and it needs a replacement carpet panel, I fully expect them to cover it. Wouldn't you think they would have seen this prior to shipping?? Rest of the car looks pretty near perfect. I know I'm nitpicking, but for that kind of mileage and $$, I would expect perfection. Anything else you'd suggest I do to hold the dealer's feet to the fire on these issues? And yeah, I know I should have gone out to see the car first, but with such a low mileage car, I didn't think it was necessary. Phil '04 Atlas/Black C4S coupe, 6sp, full supple leather, technics package, stainless exhaust, alu-color console.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Phil, you're going to get a kick out of this one. I picked my C4S up yesterday in LA, and drove it home - car was perfect, and unscathed by the shipper. We all decide to go for lunch, so my wife hops in and takes off, and I follow her in the Expedition with the kids. We live in a neighborhood of old homes (well, old for the west coast) and some of the streets have huge dips in them - and she goes plowing into one of them, and from about a block back I hear "scraaape!". We get to the restaurant, and the front lip is all roughed up, plastic sticking out all over - the first day! When we got home, I just filied it back down again, finished it off with some light sanding, and it looks great. How's that for a coincidence? On the other stuff, the carpet hole is wierd. I'd definitely insist on a whole new carpet panel, otherwise you'll see it unravelling in a year or two. The side molding being off is disappointing, but should be an easy fix, and it sounds like the dealer is behind you. Enough nitpicking now, go out and drive it!
