Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Washed and waxed the car with Rejex today. After a few hours I made a quick run to the grocery store. When I went to check the oil level (yesterday's saga), I brushed against the rear bumper and noticed I had wiped away a thin layer of carbon. Anyone else getting this?

POST 2Original post

Yep...not that uncommon. The air swirls around beck there and that's where it ends up. No big deal really. C.

POST 3Original post

Hi Lee... I see it all the time...its like exhaust soot or something. Stuttgart Autotech told me its nothing to worry about or uncommon...on my back bumber or lower panel adjacent to tail pipes.

POST 5Original post

My former 993 and my 996 really get dirty fast on the back bumper and freshly applied polymers like Rejex and Zaino seem only to exaggerate the problem as they tend to attract dust initially after their application (static charge maybe?). Usually a couple of washings knocks down the dust attraction, but I still get the rear bumper dirtier faster than any portion of the car.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
