On my '03 C4S I notice that the brake pedal becomes very stiff when the car is shut down for longer than 5 minutes. I know there is a pressure reserve that is supposed to maintain braking pressure if you lose engine power while moving for at least 1-2 pumps. On my other cars, the brake pedal only becomes stiff if you pump the brakes while the engine is shut down. Is this indicative of a fault?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

<shrug> I've always likened my '99 C4's brake feel to pushing your foot against a brick wall, but man it sure stops nicely.
