Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Most people report losing some low-end power with headers. Also, the quality of the stainless steel is suspect in many of those Chinese made components.

POST 3Original post

Even chinese titanium is bogus alloy mixes at times.

POST 4Original post

Sometimes the savings you get from off brand items is not worth the value. Stick with a name that has a proven track record of actually manufacturing a product that increases Hp... not the other way around.

POST 5Original post

I've been considering AWE headers... but they can't be found at that price!

POST 6Original post

Changing the intake plenum in my indy's opinion is they biggest bang for your buck with no downside except for the $700 output (less labor)... I asked him about headers and he said, 'don't waste your money'. As a racer himself, he said always go towards lowering weight before trying unproven bolt on stuff for your motor. The IPD intake was the only bolt on item he felt was worth the claim of 12HP. There isn't a lot left on the plate for any 'big' HP improvements unless your heading toward a non smog approved engine when it comes to 3.4's and 3.6 engines (non-turbo).

POST 7Original post

To the OP, T304 stainless is an expensive metal, I can assure you, those parts are probably not made from T 304... also, in general, avoid anything cheap from China. They will probably crack, and if they don't, they are probably not designed to increase performance on any dyno meter or anything... just some yahoo who made a part and said it was high performance, slapped on a cheap price tag and threw it on ebay.

I added the plenum, the Fister Ds, and the EVO Cold Air Intake and that gave my 2000 996 a good boost over the stock system. My mechanic also says to stay away from after market headers unless you plan on racing the car.

At that price why not try them and let us know what you think?
