Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been doing some searching around here and the net, and have about settled on getting my hands on a Fabspeed Maxflow muffler for a 2002 C4 Cabriolet. I read a lot of comments about the lack of resonance and rattle with this setup but I suspect that this comment is directed at coupe owners. What about comments specifically about how the car sounds with these exhausts on convertibles -- both with the top up and top down. Is it too loud with the top down to hold a conversation with your passenger(s)? And I assume that the resonant frequency of a convertible would be different that that of a coupe. Has anyone had problems with resonation on the convertibles? Thanks, David

POST 2Original post

Hi David, No resonance issues here. My fabspeeds are not too loud with either the top up or down. In fact, I think the only comment I can have is that I believe they have "mellowed" somewhat in the 1+ year I've had them on the car (or my hearing is going?? ;-) and don't sound as loud as original - still sounds sweet though. The growl at ignition is the greatest!! Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll have pictures of my "new to me" car when it gets delivered in a week or two. David

POST 4Original post

I also had the Fabspeed install last week, Thus far I think it is truly the best sound in my targa, very aggressive, much better than the PSE - Plus you get a couple of ponies also. It also looks awesome. If you like so pictures, let me know...
