Anyone know if a standard DIN radio body will fit into the uppermost postion of the console area (directly below the air vents)? And, is there a special replacement surround that will be required? Thanks

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yes the porsche consoles will fit DIN and double DIN radios. That is how the origional radios are sized. There are different size inner frame and outer trim parts in the parts catalogue, so go to the dealer and look at them and decide which you may have to have. But be prepared to modify and make some changes for what you may need. Stereo shops can make face trims after you get the radio mounted how you want it.
