Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need help in supporting the fact that Porsche 911s are better than GM Corvettes overall. I am talking, engineering, handling, braking, suspension, etc. See I work in the automotive industry and work with a bunch of american breed engineers that love their Corvettes. They love to talk smack that a corvette is far superior than Porsche. Since I have a 2000 C2. Some say, that Porsche is nothing but a VW. Any asistance and firing power is appreciated.

POST 2Original post

do you live in the midwest or something? most people in locations surrounded by water seem to atleast appreciate the porsche as a comparable vehicle to a 06 vette, (if not much more prestigious) even if they despise imports, or the car brand... just tell them that a corvette is nothing but a corvette.. <g>

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yep in the Midwest - Motor City! I hate ignorant ppl! Don't get wrong the Z06 is a great vehicle and GM has come a long way. But it doesnt compare to our fine automobiles. I know I am not an engineer and can't argue technical stuff, but I do know the basics.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

By the way, did VW ever own Porsche?

POST 5Original post

I don't know if this is helpful to you. Actually, I rather strongly disagree with it and like vettes, but it is funny to look at. [ http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...gear+corvette] Vettes have improved a lot over the years, and I am not all that convinced that a 911 is vastly superior in any particular performance respect that can be objectively measured. Subjective feel; well that is Porsche's thing. While I enjoy driving a vette, I love driving a 911. Steering feel and nimble handling come to mind as superior. Also, a Porsche is not built like a Lexus, but it feels better and sqeeks and rattles less than a vette. A vette is great for acceleration, braking, and ultimate grip levels, but it can't transition directions like a Porsche. What's a sport car to you? To me it is a car that accelerates well, brakes well, and turns well. A Porsche is probably only really better than a vette in the last one, but that one is damned important to me.

POST 6Original post

Porsche just increased its ownership position in VW.

POST 7Original post

hey, why spend time arguing with idiots. if corvett is good (i think it is), go buy one. if porsche is good, go buy that. there is not single car that's good, or one car better than the other. what category are you comparing. if that's not defined, it's just a waste of time. hp, corvette wins handling, p wins reliability, honda accord wins. for example.

POST 8Original post

To each his own. If they like vettes than go along with it, its the best when you go along with morons and make them think like they are some hot shot. I've been in some serious american muscle cars and they all feel really heavy but very fast. Not very nimble and not my cup of tea.

POST 9Original post

What is the difference between Veuve Clicquot and Schlitz Malt Liquor? They both get you drunk fast. Schlitz is cheaper but comes in an attractive pull top can. Me, I'll take the imported stuff. It just tastes better.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I also was just looking for some proof that VW never owned Porsche. Thanks!
