Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Got sick of the +/- tiptronic buttons. New 6 speed steering wheel + amg paddles and some dremel work:

POST 3Original post

Looks great, what kit did you use? And would you mind sharing how you did the wiring and where you mounted the paddles? Cheers Rob

POST 4Original post

Re-read, see its AMG paddles, other info would be appreciated. Cheers Rob

DCT sells it premade with a steering wheel, you can see the placement: http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...62311917_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...22706748_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...87499082_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...78787823_n.jpg As far as wiring goes, 02+ tip switches (possibly 99+ ymmv) are just on off switches, as as the amg paddles. You wire the paddles directly into the tip switch harness and the ground inside the steering wheel.

Interesting find on the czech movie but actually it was a reference to the novel/movie Dune. Although his name is really spelled Gurney Halleck.
