A friend has a 2001 C2 and has been going to the New Orleans dealer. I just wanted to check to see if there are any independent Porsche shops in the bayou that Rennlisters recommend? He is also trying to decide about the whole IMS - upgraded bearing or not. without opening up that entire topic again - what are people typically paying for parts and labor? thanks in advance for letting a 993 ask a question!

Greff Motors and NOLA Sport are both in the immediate New Orleans area. Paul Loupe Automotive is in Baton Rouge. I can give you personal tech recommendations for both areas (I am on good terms with tech(s) at the Porsche dealerships). PM me if you need further information.
I paid $555 for the L&N dual row bearing kit and $976 for labor when getting my clutch replaced. Tell your friend that the best way to go is if you need a new clutch, do the IMS bearing at the same time then the IMS labor will be basically free.
That's great! Thank you both for that info... Much appreciated
